Criação é a história de como o livro A Origem das Espécies (1859), de Charles Darwin, foi concebido. O filme, baseado na biografia escrita por Randal Keynes, tataraneto do criador da Teoria da Evolução, não funciona na telona. Se você tiver interesse na história, recomendo que espere o DVD sair. Emma (Jennifer Connelly), a esposa de Darwin (Paul Bettany), é uma devota cristã, que não aceita o trabalho de seu marido, por considerar uma ofensa a Deus. Na sua concepção, Darwin está lutando contra Ele e, caso não desista, seu destino será apenas um: o inferno.
Na verdade, o longa é mais a tentativa de uma reflexão sobre a impossibilidade de se crer em Deus e na ciência, ao mesmo tempo, do que uma cinebiografia de Darwin. De forma fria e distante (em nenhum momento o diretor consegue criar um envolvimento maior entre o filme e o espectador), vemos o conflito de uma pessoa abalada pela morte de sua filha mais próxima, que não se decide em dar prosseguimento ao seu trabalho ou encerrá-lo. Darwin apresenta diversos problemas de saúde e a pessoa mais próxima a ele passa a ser Annie (Martha West), sua falecida filha, com quem passa horas conversando.
Emma se assusta ao ver Darwin naquele estado e, além de não concordar com a Teoria da Evolução (para ela e para grande parte da sociedade, até hoje, todos descendemos de Adão e Eva), quer que seu marido aceite a perda de Annie, que a deixe descansar em paz. Darwin se afasta cada vez mais de Emma, mas, contradições à parte, é justamente nela que vai encontrar forças para dar prosseguimento ao seu estudo. Criação não procura se aprofundar muito nas teorias do naturalista britânico, mas sim no conflito existencial de um homem inovador e nem um pouco comum.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
